I am passionate about using my gifts and experience to lift up others in ministry and lend a helping hand wherever I can. I created this blog to share what I have learned in hopes of informing, entertaining and inspiring other ministers. I am currently transitioning out of full-time parish ministry at St. Michael’s in Sebree, KY to spend more time serving others in ministry remotely and be home with my family more nights and weekends.
I am originally from Maine and have lived in the mid-west since I was 13, except for a year I spent serving in Ecuador. My husband, Chris, was raised in Mexico and is also in full time ministry and was ordained a permanent deacon in September 2017. We have two boys, Gabriel who was born in September 2009 and Isaac who was born in June 2013 and a little girl Isabel born in April 2016. Five of our children are waiting for us in heaven after miscarriages: Rosario, Teresa, Elías, Claire & Damien. For 10 years I have ministered in a small, rural Catholic parish where about 75% of our members are first and second generation immigrants from Mexico and Guatemala. I have worked in some type of multicultural ministry since 2003. I am a trained Natural Family Planning Instructor (Creighton FertilityCare method) and am passionate about helping people live out God’s design for love, marriage and sexuality. Stemming from my ministry with immigrants, I have also been an active advocate for a comprehensive immigration reform since 2006.
I feel called to use new media to share what I have learned and engage with others who are on the same journey. I invite you to join this community, subscribe to the blog and get involved in the conversation! May God use it for his glory!
